Curable app

Beginner

A commercial pain-education and skills app. One independent wait-list trial reported small-to-moderate benefits. It has not been shown to beat an active therapy.

Who it is for

Adults with persistent pain who want short lessons they can do at home, and who can keep a clinician in the loop.

What it is, and how to begin

Curable packages pain education, thought skills, and brief practices into a phone program. Some people like having a lesson they can repeat. Others find apps noisy or expensive.

How to begin

  1. Ask your clinician whether a skills app is a reasonable add-on for you, not a replacement for visits.
  2. If you try it, treat each lesson like a clinic pamphlet: useful notes, not orders.
  3. Use one short lesson, then stop and notice whether it helped you take a next ordinary step—or only added noise.
  4. Keep your own clinician as the person who knows your history. Review cost and privacy terms before you subscribe.

Evidence, said carefully

There is at least one independent randomized trial that compared Curable with a wait list and found small-to-moderate effects. That design cannot tell us how it compares with in-person CBT, ACT, or physical therapy. An app is not a complete pain program.

Cautions

An app cannot examine you, order tests, or handle a crisis. Do not use it to delay care for new, worsening, or unexplained pain. Subscription cost and personal-data policies are yours to review. This library does not endorse a purchase.
